TeamTG LAN Parties & Winter/Summer Bashes
WHAT ARE TEAMTG BASHES?
In the history of TeamTG LAN parties, there have always been accessory events. At the first LAN party at San Jose State University in January of 2002, we combined the event with an outdoor Laser Tag game.
Bash
- to strike with a crushing or smashing blow.
- Slang A celebration; a party.
With fun as the core ideal of our organization, we believe that the parties hosted by TeamTG should incorporate multiple elements of fun. Thus, the rules of hosting a TG bash:
- Thy shall build a network to support the growth and creativity of the TGs, and that network shall be used to assert dominance over peers in a battle of skill.
- There shall be spirits to keep the weak happy and the strong focused.
- The party must celebrate over dinner, go out, and greet the sun.
- And the winners shall be placed in one group, and the losers in the other, and the winners shall mock the losers in a rite of hazing.
The LAN began early with Guilty and Crasty's arrival in Tracy Sunday night, 5 days prior to the official start of the LAN. With them heading off to the nvision LAN to set a world record, they stayed at OmniRune's place for one day, only to return with Steef on Wednesday night. The LAN party began with OmniRune's arrival in the cloudy city of Fortuna, California. Stepping into Crasty's abode at 7:30 at night, they quickly caught up and went out for a bite to eat at the local diner. OmniRune quickly caught on to the town's extraordinarily small population as he watched the town folk interact. Hell, even the waitress was Crasty's girlfriend's best friend.

The Dublin, California WinterBash, postponed by two weeks due to OmniRune's flu, was the first combination Winter/Spring LAN party. With an even greater emphasis on console gaming, this LAN party featured a rented movie theatre, lots of Rock Band, Warhawk, FIFA 2008 and a revisit to Tribes II. This is a small preamble to the largely anticipated Summer Palace LAN.

The TeamTG 2007 Dublin, California LAN Party was the first LAN jointly hosted by OmniRune and BT14 in their apartment; this is also the first TG LAN to be held in an apartment setting. With a number of untraditional elements, this proved to be a memorably fun LAN for all those who attended.

The Santa Cruz LAN party was the first LAN that incorporated members of TeamTG from the Eastern United States. Long time member ^Warrior^, the same individual responsible for advertising the San Jose State University LAN within the Tribes 2 browser, flew out into California with his fiance, Floista.

The TeamTG SummerBash 2003 was hosted by OlgaBaby in her home in the city of Sacramento, CA. With tables set up in the living room, this was the first LAN party where spirits were allowed, resulting in some interesting situations late on Friday night.

The LAN party started with an early morning drive by OmniRune to Excalibur’s house to pick him up and his PC. It was during this time that they both had similar tastes in computing and had identical cases. OmniRune then drove to pick Kasynia up from her friend’s house, and headed toward Pleasant Hill. The San Jose State Laser Tag / LAN party was the first LAN officially hosted by TeamTG that was open to the gaming public. With the team’s primary focus on Tribes II, regional TGs from the T2 team travelled from as far away as Washington State. In total, we had 19 individuals attend.
